As an avid health enthusiast, Melanie found yoga in 2011, and she immediately recognized the unique power of the practice. The strength, flexibility, openness, and awareness she gained from yoga translate to all areas of her life. Her commitment to self growth along with a desire to share yoga with others lead her to Yoga On Chocolate’s Teacher Training Program (Registered Yoga School, YOCTT), which she completed in March of 2017. She is incredibly grateful for her mentors, who guided her through the wonderful experience of teacher training. As a Yoga Alliance 200-hour Registered Teacher (RYT-200), Melanie’s intention is to share the amazing physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of yoga with all people, from all walks of life.
Melanie is a Registered Nurse and an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner student. She recognizes the outstanding health benefits of yoga, and encourages her patients to nourish themselves by integrating yogic principles into her patient care. She has a passion for holistic medicine, and yoga fits right in as a natural method of balancing and restoring the body, mind, and spirit.
Outside of yoga, Melanie’s passions include running, hiking, cycling, reading and meditation. She is a student of life, always looking to learn something new. Yoga enlivens her being, and inspires her to live in the moment, open to everything life has to offer. She finds great joy in helping others see the strength and beauty within themselves. She strives to have every one of her students leave her classes feeling brightened, balanced, and refreshed.
